AI-native engineering consultancy · Senior-led, AI-scaled

AI-native engineering for teams that can't afford to get it wrong.

Senior engineers who use AI.
Not AI pretending to be senior engineers.

Proof 1

We ship our own products.

Our gaming studio, MAKENZO Games, builds real games with the same process we sell. If it breaks, it breaks on us first.

Proof 2

We publish our method.

Every step is written down, including where we refuse to use AI. Read it before you hire us.

Proof 3

We clean up after bad AI usage.

A lot of our work is taking apps built quickly with AI tools and making them safe to run a business on.

Three ways to work with us.

Where you are decides where we start. Each one begins with a short, fixed-price engagement.

Assess

Step 1

Find out where AI will help your team and where it will hurt you.

We look at how your team builds software today and give you a plain-English plan.

AI Readiness Audit · 2 weeks · $12,500

Build

Step 2

Ship software faster, with a senior engineer accountable for every line.

AI does the typing. A person owns the design, reviews every change, and answers for the result.

Scoped engagement · quoted after Assess

How we build.

Five steps. A person owns three of them outright and has the final say on the other two. This is the same process our own studio uses.

A person does this AI drafts it, a person approves it

Where we don't use AI at all

  • Security-critical code.
  • Deciding how your data is structured.
  • Anything we couldn't explain to you in plain English.
  1. 1

    Spec and constraints

We write down what it must do, what it must never do, and what could go wrong. A person.

  2. 2

    Agent-assisted implementation

AI plans against that spec. It reads your codebase and searches the web for current documentation and best practices, then writes the code one small task at a time. AI drafts.

  3. 3

    Human review gates

Nothing touching logins, data, money, or patient records ships without a senior engineer reading it. A person.

  4. 4

    Generated and curated tests

AI proposes the tests. A person decides which ones actually prove something. AI drafts, a person approves.

  5. 5

    Ship and observe

Automated releases, monitoring, and a written runbook so your team can run it without us. A person.

Case study · MAKENZO Games

Double Dutch Derby, built the way we build for clients.

A live, shipped game. Every line was written by AI and every line was read by a senior engineer. We show what went wrong along the way and how review caught it.

Who we work with.

Engineering leaders bringing AI into the workflow.

CTOs and VPs who want the speed of AI without losing control of quality. We're especially at home in healthcare, finance, and anywhere a bad release is a compliance problem.

Founders who shipped a prototype.

You built it fast with AI tools, people are using it, and now you need it to hold up when someone looks closely.

Teams that need to ship more with the people they have.

Any industry, any stack. You want AI-assisted development done properly, with a senior engineer accountable for the result.

Questions we always get.

Does my code or data end up training a model?

No. We only use AI tools on business plans that forbid the provider from training on your data. Sensitive records, like patient or payment data, are never sent to a model at all. Your code stays yours, and we put all of this in the contract.

Can anyone maintain AI-written code?

Yes, when a person owns the design and reviews every change. Everything we hand over comes with tests, documentation, and someone who can explain it.

Who actually does the work?

A senior engineer leads every engagement and reads every line before it ships. AI does the typing, and specialists join when the work calls for them. You always know who's responsible.

Start with one week and a written report.

The Codebase Health Check is fixed-price and fixed-scope. You get a prioritized list of what's wrong and what it would take to fix. Hire us for the fixes, or don't.
